I am sure that most of you reading this have been overseas at least once in your life. Travel has become much more accessible since the turn of the century with flight prices dropping, more information being available and people being much more adventurous.
I have been to over 40 countries since I started travelling. However, regardless of the number of countries you’ve been to the essential things you need on your travels remain the same.
Here are 3 things I never hit the road without.
Insurance
For a long time I never had any form of insurance, yep I was a fool! To think that it’s a good idea not to get insurance before you travel is absolute madness. You need to make sure that you are covered when you’re in another country because there is the potential that the medical bills could be enormous. Of course we don’t want to think about accidents but the reality is that it could happen. So please make sure you all have insurance before you travel – also, do your research and don’t cut corners to save a few bucks!
Tech
I am well aware that we should use less technology and get back to basics, but travel is maybe not the time for that. You need a good camera if you want to take some pro looking photos, your phone to keep in contact/quickly google info/book hotels/update your social media and then your laptop if you need to keep up with work. Basically without your tech I guarantee that your trip won’t go as smoothly as you think.
Social Media
This is how you keep in contact with your friends, family and loved ones. You get to post your pictures, write updates about your trip and also you can make free phone calls. Free calls are such an important tool we all need to be using – I know our parents are very happy with it. It’s also how you can keep up to date with your mates, that travel. Paul Hurdsfield, a good mate of mine, travels to some amazing places and without his instagram I’d miss out on it all.
What do you think about my list? What are the things you can’t travel without? All you have to do is pop your thoughts in the comment section below – thank you for sharing guys!
